Laurence trained as an accountant, spending over 11 years in the profession. He then joined Olivetti, specialising in the sale of computer products to accountancy firms.
In 1983, Laurence founded Management Information Centre Limited ( MICL ), a company providing comprehensive IT services to accountancy practices.
With subsequent funding from 3i, the business thrived and grew to achieve a client base of over 1,500 firms. MICL was sold to one of its competitors, an Australian PLC, for £7 million in 2000.
Laurence established Deuxmil Limited, a company specialising in the provision of services to the superyacht industry, in 2004. The following 2 years saw the company achieve rapid growth with the acquisition of Yacht Fuel Services Limited, the world’s leading superyacht fuel provider and Yacht help Group, a company supplying a wide range of services to luxury yachts. By 2006, Deuxmil floated on AIM.
In 2008, as Executive Chairman of Deuxmil, Laurence oversaw the reverse takeover of YCO, a thriving Monaco-based superyacht management and brokerage group. He remained at the helm of the now renamed YCO Group PLC until the end of 2008 and remains the single largest shareholder.
Laurence brings his vast experience in growing businesses, both organically and through acquisition, to the Vert Business Community.
SANJAY RAY CHOWDHURY- SAP SALES SPECIALIST
A Chartered Accountant and an alumni of Indian Institute of Management, Kolkata Sanjay is a specialist in conceiving, developing and deploying Enterprise Business Solutions.
He has 11 years’ experience in SAP Solutions including a successful 5 year stint as Solution Director at SAP India where SAP experienced 110% growth. He is a specialist in business process benchmarking, re-engineering and solution sales and service delivery.
After 5 hugely successful years at SAP he rapidly built the SAP Services business of Optimal Solutions (www.optimalsol.com) in India in the space of a year. Under his leadership Optimal Solutions not only witnessed explosive entry into the Indian SME partner space, but became the fastest partner to achieve Gold. He helped Optimal build a best-in-class delivery organisation which delivered projects ontime/in budgets adding tremendous ROI to customers.
His specialties are process expertise in Discrete Manufacturing, Engineering Construction & Operations, Real Estate and Finance. He specialises in creating innovative delivery models which help reduce cost and risk in SAP implementations. ‘OPTIMISE FOCUS’ which is a modified version of ASAP FOCUS has a reduced implementation time by 33% and costs by 28%. ‘OPTIMISE FOCUS’ is currently used by Optimal Solutions in all of their SME Implementations.
Sanjay is an evangelist for ‘Affordable SAP for SME’ and currently working on an ‘ON DEMAND AMS’ delivery model which is on the drawing board.
Prior to SAP, Sanjay managed large SAP service lines in IBM and Tata Consultancy Services.
He also worked for Sage Software plc in its development centre in India and with a large Sage re-seller in UK.
Currently, Sanjay is a SAP Sales Specialist in India.
